As the academic year comes to a close, we want to express just how proud we are of our athletes - for what they do on the water, but also what they do off the water.
This year, we had a number of athletes honored for their off the water accomplishments in both the classroom and the community. Congratulations to:
Megan Duffy, Briana Hurley, Rose Lane, Drew McNichols and John Riesenberg, who were selected to be in the athletic honors society, Chi Alpha Sigma. In order to be inducted into this society, athletes must have a 3.4 GPA or higher.
Drew and Sarah Meyer were nominees for the 2009-2010 Jim Wade Award, which honors student athletes who best represent the Stars.
Drew also received an award for outstanding economics major in the Meinder's School of Business.
Edgar Boitmanis was awarded the StuPro award for Most Impact on the Community.
Nick Hagen was named Battalion Commander of his ROTC squad.
