Kathryn (Kat) Schiro placed 3rd in the CRASH-B's World Indoor Rowing Championships on Sunday, February 20th at Boston University's Agganis Arena in Massachusetts. Schiro tied her personal best with a time of 7:26.9 over the 2,000 meter race. The time earned her a bronze medal in the Under-23 Lightweight Women's division. Julia Mareike Ost from Hannoverscher Ruder-Club, Germany clinched first place with a 7:18.2, while Erin Landy who is a junior at Georgetown rowed a 7:25.7 for the second place finish. Competitors in this division must weigh a maximum of 135 pounds.
"Over the last 18 months, Kat has been committed to training at the elite level. Her determination has paid off and is earning her and OCU medals at international competitions," says Melanie Borger.
