Retreat reflections and call for pictures

225 slices of cheese, 180 eggs, 132 marshmellows, 60 lbs of potatoes, 48 hamburgers, 31 rowers, 20 veggie burgers, 15 bunks, 4 toilets, 3 coaches, 2.5 inches of rain, and 2 showers all in 1 cabin!

Email me your pictures and thoughts from our adventures this weekend, and I will post them to the blog.

It was wet and rainy, but a wonderful time was had by all. The team came together to prepare delicious meals, play team building games, discusss goals, overcome the dreary weather and get to know each other better.

Over the weekend, I reflected on the quality of "family vacations." The most memorable ones, the trips we still talk about, the instances where we really came together and bonded were the times when nothing went according to plan- when my dad would run the sailboat aground and everyone got seasick, not the trips where we had calm seas and beautiful weather. The same is true when I reflect on rowing trips. My most vivid memory of the Head of the Charles is the 1996 race that was canceled due to extreme rainfall and flooding when my car almost floated away in the Trader Joe's parking lot (but we'll keep our fingers crossed for perfect weather this year!)
